Leonardo Jelveh

Leonardo Jelveh was born in Abano Terme, Italy in 1998. He studied at the "Cesare Pollini" Music Conservatory in Padova in the viola class of Prof. Fabrizio Scalabrin, graduating with highest marks and honors in 2016.
At the age of 14, he attended the Master Class in Austria at the "International Orchestra Institute Attergau", holding concerts in Salzburg. In 2015, he was part of the European Union Youth Orchestra as a "Leverhulme Summer School" member in Austria. During his academic studies, between 2013 and 2015, he participated in the "Internationale Sommerakademie" with Prof. Thomas Riebl in Austria.
He has received awards in numerous international competitions, such as the First Absolute Prize at the 7th International Competition "Salieri" in Legnago, the First Prize at the VII International Competition “Premio Crescendo” in Florence and the First Prize at the International Competition “Contea di Treviso” 2016. He also placed second at the prestigious International Competition "Francesco Geminiani" 2016 in Verona.
He has participated in numerous concerts as a soloist and in various chamber music ensembles, in particular with the “Bottega Tartiniana” chamber orchestra in Padova under the guidance of Maestro Piero Toso. From 2016 to 2018, he performed in major European festivals and theaters with the Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester. He also collaborated with the “Orchestra del Teatro La Fenice” in Venice and the Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra.
He is now attending the Hochschule für Musik Freiburg under the guidance of Prof. Wolfram Christ in a Bachelor of Music.
