Jozefien Dumortier is a Belgian violinist and violist. Since 2020, she’s studying at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam in the class of Maria Milstein (Van Baerle Trio) and Sven Arne Tepl (Artistic director Residentie Orkest The Hague). Before, she has studied with Marc Danel (Quatuor Danel), Lei Wang (Philharmonie Zuid-Nederland) and Marc Tooten (Hermes ensemble).
In 2015, she won the Rotary Culture Prize (Kortrijk).
Until now, she has taken masterclasses with (among others) Sigiswald Kuijken, Alessandro Moccia, Philippe Graffin, Henry Raudales, Alexei Moshkov, David Waterman, Karen Aroutiouniaten, Vera Beths, Garfield Jackson, Robert Szreder, Atar Arad and Ami Flammer.
Jozefien has been a member of the EUYO (European Union Youth Orchestra) since 2019.
She’s also a substitute at the Belgian National Orchestra.
Before, she has been a member of ‘Young Belgian Strings’ (Dirk Van de Moortel) ‘La Camerata’ (Namur) and Youth Orchestra Flanders.
